The Kala James Hill Signature Solid Top Mahogany Concert Ukulele (JH1) has been designed in collaboration with renowned ukulele artist and educator James Hill to give beginners a genuinely musical instrument from the very first lesson. Combining a warm, responsive tone with comfortable playability, it is an excellent choice for students, families and anyone starting their ukulele journey.
The solid mahogany top produces a rich, warm tone with plenty of character, encouraging players to pick up the instrument and practise. Its concert-sized body provides a comfortable balance between a compact feel and a fuller sound, while the comfortable neck and pocketed nickel frets make playing easier for developing hands.
A lightweight construction and traditional string-tie bridge make the JH1 well suited to lessons, rehearsals and home practice. It comes fitted with D'Addario Clear Nylon Strings and can accommodate an optional metal-wound Low G string for players looking to extend their tonal range.
