Yamaha FS7 RX & FG7 RX Solid Acoustic Guitars
The Yamaha FS7 RX and FG7 RX combine premium solid tonewoods, carefully developed acoustic construction and Yamaha's Atmosfeel electronics in two distinctive body shapes. Both models feature a solid Sitka spruce top with solid Indian rosewood back and sides, delivering a responsive acoustic character with powerful projection, rich harmonics and full low-end response.
Both guitars use scalloped X-bracing and a thicker back board to support a strong, resonant acoustic response. The FS7 RX features Yamaha's comfortable FS concert-style body, making it a compact and versatile choice, while the FG7 RX uses the larger FG dreadnought-style body for a more substantial acoustic presence and greater body volume.
Solid Sitka Spruce and Indian Rosewood Construction
The solid Sitka spruce tops provide sensitivity, clarity and projection, while solid Indian rosewood back and sides add rich harmonics and powerful low frequencies. Both models feature a gloss polyurethane body finish, black and cream binding, a wooden rope-pattern soundhole inlay and tortoise-pattern pickguard for a refined appearance.
The FS7 RX has a body width of 380 mm and depth of 90-115 mm, while the FG7 RX measures 412 mm wide with a deeper 100-125 mm body. Their different proportions offer distinct playing experiences while retaining the same premium solid-wood construction.
Natural Sound Through Atmosfeel
Both models are equipped with Yamaha's Atmosfeel pickup system, combining an undersaddle pickup, contact sensor and microphone to capture the guitar's natural acoustic character when amplified. Master Volume controls the overall output, while Mic Blend adjusts the microphone contribution and Bass EQ provides additional tonal shaping.
A LINE OUT connection provides straightforward integration with an amplifier, PA system or recording setup.
Refined Materials and Hardware
Both guitars feature a one-piece African mahogany neck with a 400 mm radius ebony fingerboard, 44 mm bone nut and 11.0 mm string spacing. Ebony bridges, bone saddles and ebony bridge pins are matched with Gotoh SXN510 Cosmo Black tuners.
Elixir NANOWEB 80/20 Bronze Light strings are fitted as standard, and each guitar includes a hardshell case, soundhole cover, hex wrench and Certificate of Authenticity.
