The Road Toad Pahoehoe U•BASS® Strings are Kala’s signature light-tension “black rubber” strings — a proprietary polyurethane blend that delivers a uniquely round, upright-style tone with impressive low-end depth. These strings offer exceptional flexibility, a smooth feel, and the classic, warm U•BASS® sound that started it all.
Ideal for players seeking that unmistakable upright bass character in a compact instrument, Pahoehoe strings are available in 4- and 5-string sets.

For use on round-wound U•BASS® setups, a new nut compatible with rubber strings is required. Nut replacement should be performed by a qualified instrument technician.
Not compatible with Kala Solid Body U•BASS® models equipped with magnetic pickups.
