Alder/Maple/Alder Body Construction
A multi-laminated body of alder with a hard maple core increases stiffness for enhanced midrange presence, helping your sound cut through the mix. This design also improves vibration transfer between the body and maple neck, giving exceptional resonance and sustain.
6-Bolt Miter Neck Joint
Miter bolting holds the neck closer and tighter to the body than a standard bolt-on, ensuring more efficient vibration transfer, improved sustain and a fuller resonance in every note.
YGD Custom V7 Pickups
Specially designed alnico pickups provide a warm, fat tone with great definition. In combination with the body construction, they deliver an organic, well-balanced sound that works in any genre.
Active/Passive Circuit
Switch seamlessly between active and passive modes. The active circuit offers a 3-band EQ for fine tonal shaping, while passive mode features a master tone control. Output levels are matched for both modes, and gold-plated signal path parts ensure reliability. A rear-panel LED battery indicator means no unpleasant surprises mid-performance.
Vintage Plus Bridge
The Vintage Plus bridge allows two stringing options – traditional tail-end or Yamaha’s Diagonal Body Thru Stringing, which passes strings through the body at a 45º angle. This reduces string stress and improves vibration transfer. Convertible saddles give a choice of tonal character – rounded for a warmer sound, angled for a tighter response. Brass saddles enhance the low-end, while the steel baseplate adds brightness. All hardware is stainless steel for long-lasting durability.
Five-Piece Neck
A laminated maple and mahogany neck offers both stability and tonal balance – bright and punchy with added warmth. The slightly thinner profile improves playability for a wide range of styles.
