At the heart of this instrument is a select alder body featuring sculpted Ultra contours and a tapered neck heel, delivering exceptional comfort and effortless access to higher frets. The graphite-reinforced quartersawn maple neck features a Modern “D” profile and silky Ultra Satin finish for fast, smooth playability. A 10"–14" compound-radius ebony or quartersawn maple fingerboard includes Ultra rolled edges, medium-jumbo frets and Luminlay® side dots for enhanced visibility on any stage, while headstock truss rod access allows quick and convenient adjustments.
Equipped with specially designed Ultra II Noiseless™ Vintage pickups, this bass offers an expansive tonal palette — from classic Precision warmth to articulate modern punch — all without unwanted hum. The redesigned active preamp provides extensive tone shaping, featuring S-1™ switching for active/passive operation, passive tone control and a 3-band EQ with selectable midrange frequency for maximum versatility.

ULTRA II NOISELESS™ VINTAGE PRECISION BASS® PICKUPS AND VINTAGE JAZZ BASS® PICKUPS
The Ultra II Noiseless™ Vintage pickups are responsive and expressive, delivering definitive P Bass® punch and J Bass® growl for exceptional Fender tone without hum. Ultra II Noiseless™ pickups feature an evolved architecture of specialized stacked coils with the top coil wound around Alnico V rod magnets to produce true single-coil Fender tone, and the isolated bottom coil calibrated to preserve the tone and simply reject hum.
ULTRA II ACTIVE BASS PREAMP WITH S-1™ SWITCHING
Redesigned for unprecedented control, this 18 volt preamp features S-1™ switching for active/passive operation so you can change modes on the fly and a global passive tone control to easily shape your active and passive sounds for authentically deep vintage timbres. The precise and powerful 3-band active EQ offers shimmering musical highs, satisfyingly punchy lows and a switchable midrange frequency to seriously sculpt your sound.
