A pioneering innovator and defining influence on effect-heavy guitar sounds, Kevin Shields created legendary sonic walls of fuzz unlike anything the world had experienced, establishing the sound of alternative rock throughout the 1980s and 1990s. His weapon of choice for fuzz-driven mayhem was an original Fender Blender effect pedal, celebrated for its dynamic response and compelling fuzz splatter. Following over four years of collaborative development, Fender and Shields have revived this legendary 1970s fuzz and enhanced it with a revolutionary feature set, creating the all-new Fender Shields Blender.

At its heart, the Fender Shields Blender captures the tone of Shields' personal vintage 1970s Fender Blender, achieved through meticulous hand-tracing of the circuit from his own fuzz box. Built upon this vintage foundation are entirely new methods of controlling and blending the original fuzz voice, all designed with performance in mind using four easily accessible footswitches. Two footswitchable fuzz channels, each featuring dedicated level controls, provide the ability to blend the fuzz voice with your clean signal or combine the fuzz voice with a powerful suboctave fuzz, whilst the sag footswitch introduces unprecedented sputtering and ducking effects, all controlled by your playing dynamics.

Built Around a Classic

Designed around Kevin Shields' original Fender Blender circuit, incorporating his personal modifications, the Fender Shields Blender adds an Octave-Up push button to toggle the original octave-up fuzz voice on and off, unlocking entirely new vintage fuzz tones.

Two Footswitchable Channels

The Octave footswitch toggles between two fuzz channels. Channel one blends the fuzz voice with the original clean signal. Channel two removes the clean signal and instead blends the fuzz with a monophonic suboctave fuzz.

Blendable Fuzz

Use the Volume and Blend knobs to establish the perfect balance of clean and fuzz signals for creating unique crisp tones, then employ the Fuzz and Octave knobs to craft the ideal mix of double or triple octave fuzz.

Reactive Sag Circuit

The revolutionary sag circuit employs dynamic sensing circuitry to create imploding fuzz tones. By reducing power to the transistors relative to the picking intensity used by the player, you can harness controlled chaos like no other fuzz pedal.

Vintage Style, Modern Appointments

Like its predecessor, the Fender Shields Blender features an angled, brushed aluminium chassis with vinyl appointments, whilst new additions such as LED indicators and a 9V DC power jack provide contemporary convenience.
