This concerto with a distinctly Celtic flavour features a penny-whistle as the solo instrument although the Irish Pipes (fully keyed) would be equally suitable. It could also be played with either a flute or an oboe or soprano saxophone as soloist The keyboard part can be omitted, but provides support to the orchestra if necessary. If an electric keyboard is used certain registration effects are indicated in the score.
