Every Larrivée is built using all solid wood. No plys, laminates, or "layered" woods are ever used.
We take the time to source all our own material, hand selecting our wood ensures we only use the best of the best. The search takes us from the exotic jungles of West India to the supernatural rain forests of British Columbia. The wood then arrives at the factory, ready for our curing combination of air dry and kiln drying. Some of it will age in our warehouse for up to a decade to achieve optimum tonal properties.

The 09 is the genesis of Jean's 'recipe', reached perfection with the first L09 originally built in the '70s. 40 years later, not much has changed. A perfect combination of East Indian Rosewood back and sides, Sitka spruce top, and powered by Jean's legendary X-Brace system. The 09 Series delivers a powerful, yet balanced, dynamic range.
Whether in the studio or live, flat-picking or strumming, this true American workhorse offers all the response and the tone you will need. Standard features include JCL 18:1 tuners, flamed maple trim, and abalone rosette.
