This guitar is one of the first GS Export models GS have made using the very best of every component available - built originally to showcase GS at the winter NAMM show.
Made from 40 yr old Brazilian mahogany - the ultimate electric guitar tone-wood - the body is made from a single billet and capped with solid pomelle and hand stained in a ruby satin finish. The neck is also one piece, cut from a quarter sawn 4" billet of the same timber. The fingerboard is African ebony.
Hardware is GOTOH XGold, including 21:1 ratio 510 tuners.
The pick-ups were hand wound in house and wired in using vintage braided cable and the loom was finished with CTS pots and Switchcraft switches.
The guitar comes with a fitted hard case and Certificate Of Authenticity.
This is a truly great guitar, the pickups have loads of clarity. There are loads of tonal options with the coil tapped humbucker. We tried a few things on it from jazz to Led Zep and Queen to Iron Maiden. It sounded brilliant!
This guitar was unfortunately damaged in transit. There is a split under the top by the tone and volume knobs, as shown in the photos. Also, there is a mark under the tone knob and the selector switch has been pushed in (easily replaceable). Lastly, there is a very minor dink in the tolex of the hardcase.
