Description

This limited edition, week-to-view diary has been specially created to commemorate the 50th birthday of Faber Music.

Faber Music was founded in 1965, a result of Benjamin Britten’s vision for a music publisher to compare with the famed independent literary house Faber & Faber. Fifty years on, Faber Music is nothing short of a phenomenon: the last significant classical music publisher to become established in the UK; one of the most distinguished composer rosters in the industry; a world leader in educational and popular printed music; and a breathtaking array of award-winning film and television scores.

It is the printed publications themselves, and in particular their bold, often iconic cover designs, which both reflect and define the company ethos. This diary presents some of the most striking and significant, as well as scans of composers’ manuscripts and seldom-seen letters from Faber Music’s archives. It is dedicated to the composers who lie at the heart of those publications - each of them a vital part of the 50 year history of this music publishing house of distinction.
